plus your soap mold, glitter, fragrance oil

Step 1: Cut up approximately 13 ounces of Ultra Clear Melt & Pour soap base and 0.5 ounces of White Melt & Pour soap base into small cubes using a sharp knife.

Step 2: Take 6.5 ounces of cubed Ultra Clear Melt and Pour soap base and place in a microwave safe glass container. Melt in the microwave in 30-second bursts until melted. Be careful, soap can easily boil which will result in a poor quality rubbery soap.

Step 3: Using a disposable pipette add 1.5 ml of Bonfire Bliss fragrance oil and stir slowly until mixed well. This scent is a wonderful fall scent! Smells of pine and cedar bonfires, amber, smoky sandalwood and musk with a hint of roasted marshmallows, brown sugar, coconut and soft vanilla. This is a perfect scent for Halloween and Fall!

Tip: Monitor your soap with a thermometer to make sure it isn’t too hot. I like to make sure my soap is within 145 degrees before adding any fragrance oils or additives.

Step 4: Slowly add 4 – 5 scoops of Shimmer Dust Glitter in Tuxedo Black to the melted soap base. Stir slowly while adding the glitter to the soap base so it doesn’t clump up on you. You will want to pour this soap on the cool side so the glitter doesn’t settle down into the mold. Keep stirring slowly until cool.

Tip: Always stir slowly when adding colorants, fragrances or any type of additions to your soap base to avoid creating any more bubbles than you have to.

Step 5: Spritz alcohol lightly into the Screams Silicone Soap Mold. This will help the cooler soap flow smoothly into the design.

Step 6: Pour the black shimmery soap into your Screams silicone mold slowly. This will fill 6 of the mold cavities.

Step 7: I wanted to make 6 black and 6 red soaps, so follow Steps 2 – 6, but use Shimmer Dust Glitter in Bright Red instead. Let the soap sit for about 30 minutes to 1 hour until completely cool and hardened.

Step 8: Remove the soaps gently from the mold by slowly pressing on the bottom of the mold.

these are neat – but we can do better!

Step 9: Now we’re going to fill in the “face” with white soap so you can see the eyes, nose and mouth better. You can leave them as is or follow me to the next step.

Step 10: Take 1/2 oz of the White Melt & Pour soap base and place into a small paper cup. Melt in the microwave for about 7 seconds. This is such a small amount of soap; you don’t need to scent it.

Step 11: Spritz your soaps with alcohol to help the white soap adhere better.

Step 12: Draw up some of the melted white soap base using a Disposable Pipette and slowly add some white soap to the eyes, mouth and nose cavities. Keep a bottle of alcohol at hand just in case a stray bubble forms in one of the cavities. Spritz it right away if this happens.

Step 13: If some white soap spilled out of the cavities onto the “face,” just wait until the soap dries completely and slowly rub it away using a clean paper towel. You may have to do this for the “nose” because it’s so small.

Step 14: Set your soaps aside until completely cool and then enjoy! These will make wonderful Halloween handouts, but make sure your giftee knows it’s soap and not candy!
