Submission Guidelines

Do you have a great idea, recipe, technique or tutorial that you would like to share with the other Library patrons? We welcome them! In fact, we're so excited that you'd like to share that we're going to give you a Gift Certificate to be used at the Rustic Escentuals website for each approved submission. Together we can make the Crafting Library a *huge* success!

Before you start showering us with your fabulous projects and ideas, there are a few things to keep in mind. Nothing too difficult or tedious. Just a few simple rules of the road. Please read through these carefully and if in doubt about anything, let us know prior to submission.

All ingredients listed must be approved for the application in which they are being used. IE: colorants and fragrance oils must be SKIN SAFE if being used in a soap or toiletry item. Failure to adhere to this rule will see your tutorial round-filed and you will be banned from any future tutorial submissions. We're serious. No crayons for soap. No Wick Air Freshener oils for lotion. No candle dyes for lip balms. No kite string for candle wicks. If in doubt, please check it out. Google, wikipedia, or ask us.

It goes without saying - all tutorials MUST be your own. No copying from other sites or books. No lifting content, images, or anything else from another source. You are responsible for confirming the validity of all content submitted and should we find out later that said content was not your own, the tutorial will be deleted from the library and you will be banned from any future submissions. Do not copy from others.

Tutorials should be proofread to check for misspellings, punctuation errors, broken links, and anything else that would detract from the quality of the information contained within.

Tutorials should have several good-quality photos. Pictures should be clear, in-focus, uncluttered, and without backgrounds that detract from what is being photographed. Photos cannot be watermarked or labeled with urls, business names, or any other form of identification.

All submissions should be in plain text or doc file format with images that are no smaller than 500px wide. We cannot use teensy weensy thumbnails and would prefer larger files as they can always be sized down but cannot be sized up.

As this library is provided as a service by Rustic Escentuals, products should be made using the majority of items from our site (or items which can be obtained from our site).

All accepted submissions will be credited with your first and last name as well as your business name and website url (if applicable) so it is important that this information is contained in your email to us. Mentioning your business in your tutorial is not allowed - the only exception to this pertains to labels in your photographs AND the link to your site or your business name which will be shown at the bottom of your submission. Showing the label is fine - showing a business card leaning up next to the finished project? Nope!

There is no limit to the number of projects you can submit to the Crafting Library. We will reward you for any and all approved submissions. Rewards range from $25 to $150 depending upon the project. Video tutorials are rewarded with the highest amount of $150. Feel free to email us with your project suggestion before submission - we can let you know whether or not it would potentially be a good fit for the Crafting Library.
