Supplies and equipment needed
Microwave or double boiler method
Microwave safe glass containers
Butter knife to cut soap into small pieces
Spoon
Rubber gloves
Disposable pipettes
Thermometer (not shown)
Jelly Soap Base (16 oz)
8 oz Jelly Jars
Pewter Lid for 8oz Jelly Jar
Pineapple Supreme Fragrance Oil
Cabana Coconut Fragrance Oil
Gel Soap Colorants: Royal Blue and Canary Yellow
IMPORTANT TIPS
The recommended melt temperature is 185° F, therefore not suitable for children to make.
When removing this container from the microwave or stove, use oven gloves to help protect your hands from getting burned.
If using a microwave to heat up the soap base, do not place the container onto a cold counter top after removing from the microwave. The base will be close to 185° F and this may cause your container to crack. To be safe, place the container onto a warm towel or cutting board after removing from a microwave.
Once the base is ready for color and fragrance oil, you will need to work fast because this base will start to thicken quickly.

Step 1
Cut up approximately 8 ounces of Crystal Jelly Soap Base into small pieces. This will help in the melting process.
Double boiler Method:
Place approximately 8 ounces of Jelly Soap Base into the top portion of double boiler pan and turn stove on low. Monitor with a thermometer until the base is fully melted, stirring occasionally and slowly while melting to minimize bubbles. This will take approximately 10 minutes for 8 ounces of soap. The base should read about 185° F when ready. This will ensure that it’s fully melted and also will help minimize the bubbles that form naturally while heating up this base. Once ready, pour into a heat safe container for Step 2.

Microwave Method:
Place approximately 8 ounces of Jelly Soap Base into a heat safe /microwave safe container. Cover the container to prevent too much moisture from escaping. Melt for approximately 30 seconds, then follow up with 15 second increments until fully melted. Be careful because this base can easily boil in a microwave. Stir slowly in between to ensure the soap base is being evenly heated and to minimize bubbles.

Step 2
Add 3 – 4 drops of Sapphire Blue Gel Colorant and stir slowly.

Step 3
Using a disposable pipette, add 5ml of Cabana Coconut Fragrance oil (or any soap scent) and slowly stir.

Step 4
Pour approximately 4 ounces of soap base into 2 jelly jars and let cool. Bubbles in the soap will travel up and the soap will become clearer as it cools.

Step 5
Repeat Steps 1 – 4 using 4 drops of Canary Yellow Gel Soap Colorant and 5ml of Pineapple Supreme fragrance oil.

Step 6
Pour slowly onto the blue scented soap.

Step 7
Let set until completely cool then cap the jars.

To use, scoop out with a clean spoon or even your fingers and use as normal soap. Do not introduce water to the container. Use it in the bath or shower – crush up a handful and squeeze, slather, and soap all over!
