Small moisture rich chips of solid lotion! So easy to make and easy to apply. You can store these in any container, such as a portable lip balm tin or a larger cosmetic jar, and apply whenever needed.

Supplies and equipment needed:
Microwave or electric mini melting pot
Large microwave safe glass container
3 cups/bowls
Spoon for stirring
Rubber gloves
Silicone baking pan
Digital Scale
Disposable pipette
Shea Butter, unrefined
White Beeswax Pastilles
Apricot Kernel Oil
Body Safe Fragrance Oil

We will be following a basic Lotion Bar recipe of:
1/3 Beeswax
1/3 Butters
1/3 Oils
Step 1: Measure out all ingredients using the digital scale: 2.5 ounces of Beeswax, 2.5 ounces of Shea Butter and 2.5 ounces of Apricot Kernel Oil.

Step 2: Add the Beeswax and Shea Butter to a large glass microwave safe container.
Step 3: Slowly melt in a microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Stir between each 30 second set.
Step 4: When it is halfway melted, add the Apricot Kernel Oil and continue as in Step 3 above.
Step 5: When it is almost melted and there are small chunks of butter or wax left in the container, remove from the microwave and stir. The small chunks will continue to melt, cooling the mixture at the same time.
Optional Ways of melting the ingredients:
• If you have an electric Mini Melting Pot, add the measured butters/oils to this pot instead of the microwave.
• You can also melt using your stovetop. Add the ingredients to a small stainless steel pot and insert this into a larger pot that is filled with water. The water in the larger container should only reach to the bottom of the inserted pot. Slowly heat.
• NEVER heat oils/butter directly over a flame.

Step 6: Using a pipette, add 2 ml of body safe Fragrance Oil to the melted butters and stir. Do not add more than 2 ml – we are keeping this at a 1% fragrance load because this is a leave-on product.

Step 7: Pour the mixture slowly into a silicone baking pan. This will give you a thin sheet of a solid lotion.

Step 8: After you have poured all of the mixture, let set until completely hardened. You can also put this into a freezer to speed up the process if you like. Just wait till the mixture hardens a bit before moving the pan.
Step 9: When the mixture is completely hardened, slowly remove the solid lotion from the pan.
Step 10: Break the lotion sheet into small chips. You can beak them up into smaller or larger size pieces, whichever you prefer.

Store them in a container of your choice. When you’re ready to use, just remove one little chip and smooth all over your body! You may need to warm in your hands first (depending on how cold it is). The warmth of your hands will help to melt the lotion. These are especially nice for the rougher parts of your skin like your elbows, knees and heels. Just smooth on and let it soak in and moisturize!
