Having a nice smelling room is comforting and refreshing. It’s even better when you can customize the scent to your liking! Using a carpet refresher before guests arrive or to cover up bad odors from pets is a great, inexpensive way to help liven up your living space.

Step 1
Pour baking soda into a metal or glass bowl. Add approximately 1/2 teaspoon of fragrance oil. (Don’t use too much fragrance oil – a little goes a long way!)

Step 2
Use a stick blender or food processor to fully incorporate the fragrance oil into the baking soda.

Step 3
Transfer the carpet sprinkles in a glass jar for storage.

Step 4
To use, lightly sprinkle on carpet and vacuum.

Tip: Poke or drill some holes into the lid of the jar to enable sprinkling on the carpet.

** Use a bowl dedicated to crafting purposes. Don’t use a bowl that is also used for food preparation.
